I had a French penpal in Lyon when I was in grade school. There was something magical about getting letters (mostly consisting of crayon drawings) in the mail from a faraway place.
Lovely! Lyon, nice. In high school French class I had several penpals (Australia, Ivory Coast, Belgium). It was great exchanging letters and seeing the airmail envelopes. Since early pandemic I've had two penfriends met on a New Yorker writer's Twitter/website group, which shut down in 2021 I think.
love that cat!
Thanks so much! Yah, I do too, heh, if I can say so. When I see it, I think of the neighbor cat down the street, Speckle.
