Hi all,
Hope you're having a good Thursday. Things are feeling more mellow than yesterday under a deadline. Hurrah! Deep breath.
By the way, we will skip Draw Together this week because I have a different event at noon Friday.
That said, we’ve had great responses to Draw Together sessions! I’ve been asked by several people (and two orgs) to share news of the Draw Together schedule.
In last Friday’s session we drew a woodpecker and a heron; another sketcher made a field drawing of the moon to finish work surrounding the recent harvest moon and eclipse. The latter is connected with the Wild Wonder nature journaling org, which may interest some of you. Amy Tan is one of the co-founders; Nishant Jain and others spoke at their online conference last week.
Here in the subtropical zone, the weather has become milder -- it's “not 93” for a bit, as a friend recently observed, noting that windows are open.
Better temperatures and easier walks mean improved sleep. Also easing away from cabin fever. The sketch above was made when it was still 93 and humid, haha.
Apologies to Danny Gregory for this rendition of his face on his YouTube channel, but he's an inspiration. It was drawn late at night from a Sketchbook Skool series on learning to draw.
Have a good Thursday and I’ll return with news of Draw Together sessions; interviews on arts in health and conservation; fundraising, living abroad; and possibly ebooks and classes on sketching.
Thank you for your time and attention!
Quick reminder: Refer anyone who signs up for a three-plus month paid subscription and receive cards and stickers of my illustrations. Or sign up yourself for three-plus months of a paid subscription and receive even more cards and stickers, plus draw together sessions, extra posts about drawing, creative expression, and fundraising. You’ll also be taking part in a worthy fundraiser for my dad. Thank you.
