Seeing owls (and learning to make ebooks)
Thank you to Liz (an artist too) who sent this photo of the card/print I made and sent when she subscribed to this newsletter, Climbing Grasses.
Exciting to see this piece out and about. The larger wall print is available here. And all paid subscribers for 3+ months receive my cards and stickers like Liz did.
(If you are wondering, yesterday's Draw Together went well and was a lovely break from the day’s work.)
With relief, have been getting outside more often now that the temperature is easing for fall in the subtropical zone. And, relatedly, I’ve had more energy for looking into making an illustrated non-fiction ebook.
For now I’ve checked two sources, this YouTube tutorial from Zack Griset and Kindle Direct Publishing’s info and downloadable tool.
Probably will also check into art agent Lilla Rogers Studio’s free series on pitching an illustrated non-fiction book, too.
Have you made an ebook or sold a book? At some point I may interview someone who has done that and/or successfully pitched an illustrated non-fiction book of any kind. Maybe I’ll interview myself at some point, we’ll see. But until then, let me know if you have suggestions. Thanks!

Did you know that any shares or likes to this newsletter raise its profile and help others see it in the Substack app or in email? Thank you again to all followers and subscribers. My 83 subscribers are making this a successful newsletter that supports both my work and my dad's income on Social Security.
Learn more about my work here and have a good weekend!
How’s this going? I’ve never pitched any book, but I’ve picked up some tips on how to find appropriate people to pitch to and such. If you’re interested.
